Ozzy Osbourne is once again setting out on tour, but this time for a new, non-musical endeavor. Come July, the heavy metal legend will hit the road with his son Jack for an upcoming History channel travel show, Ozzy and Jack’s World Detour.
According to EW.com, the hour-long, 10-part series will find the father-son duo crossing off a list of iconic landmarks from their geographical bucket list, making stops at storied sites like Mt. Rushmore, Stonehenge, and Roswell. The self-proclaimed history buffs will also visit a number of artifact hot spots, from a Cold War-era missle silo to vintage tank collector Allan Cors’ private museum of working war machines.
“[It’s] like a father and son spoof on history. We went to Stonehenge and met a guy who thinks he’s the f—ing reincarnation of King Arthur. And we went to Bletchley Park to see the machine [Alan Turing] used to break the [German] kind,” Ozzy told Billboard in October. “We’re going to Mount Rushmore, to the abandoned silos where America used to have their Minutemen missiles and all that. It’s educational for me, actually — history with an Osbourne slant.”
Of course, the Osbournes are no stranger to the small screen. Before the Kardashians ruled reality television, the famous family headed up a day-in-the-life series for MTV called The Osbournes. Its three-year, early 2000s run was one of the channel’s most-viewed shows.
Ozzy and Jack’s World Detour premieres July 27 at 10PM on History.
