Marty Friedman Riffs On New Jackson Signature Guitar

The clip showcases Friedman playing the new guitar, talking about returning to Jackson and features song clips from his upcoming album, ‘Wall Of Sound.’

Published

To ring in a new era, Marty Friedman showcases his brand new Jackson MF-1 signature model in a video posted by Jackson Guitars. The clip showcases Friedman playing this new guitar amidst rare, intimate discussions about his decision to return to Jackson. In addition, the video features song clips from his upcoming album, Wall Of Sound, which will be released on August 4, 2017 via Prosthetic Records. The album was produced by Friedman, engineered by Paul Fig (Ghost, Rush, Alice in Chains) and mixed by Jens Bogren (Lamb of God, Opeth). Pre-orders can be found here.

Once again, Friedman assembled an incredible and diverse group of musicians to record and guest on Wall Of Sound. His core recording band is made up of Anup Sastry, a modern whiz kid sharing drum duties with uber-veteran Gregg Bissonette, and Japanese musician Kiyoshi – who is undisputedly one of the most aggressive bassists on earth. Guests include Jinxx of Black Veil Brides and Shiv Mehra of Deafheaven, and Jorgen Munkeby of Shining lends his voice to the only non-instrumental track on the album.

The album will be available on all digital platforms, compact disc and comes in five limited edition LP color variants.

Epiphone proudly presents the new limited-edition Richie Faulkner Flying-V Custom Outfit, the premier signature guitar from Judas Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner. Faulkner’s Flying-V includes EMGTM active pickups, a Floyd Rose Tremolo and bridge with R2 Locking Nut, Grover Rotomatic machine heads, a custom Thin-C neck profile, and a custom designed gig bag.

“Right out of the box, the quality of the guitar was mind blowing,” said Faulkner. “I used it all over the new Judas Priest record. I’m taking it out on the road next year. It’s an honor to be part of the heritage.”

When Faulkner joined Judas Priest in 2011, his incredible speed, finesse, and energy rejuvenated the pioneering English metal band and helped to introduce Judas Priest to a new generation of fans. Now, as Judas Priest approaches its 50th anniversary, Epiphone welcomes Faulkner to Epiphone’s distinguished family of signature artists.

The new limited-edition Richie Faulkner Flying-V Custom Outfit is a classic Flying-V with a Mahogany body in an Ebony gloss finish with a thin-C profile neck modeled after Richie’s favorite vintage Flying-V. It’s powered by the classic combo of an EMG-66 (active) humbucker in the neck position and an EMG-57 humbucker (active) in the lead position, both with a Smooth Black Nickel finish. Faulkner’s Flying V also comes with a Floyd Rose Tremolo 1000-Series bridge and Floyd Rose “R2” locking nut for incredibly precise tuning and sustain, a hallmark of Faulkner’s style.

Andrew W.K. Unveils New ESP Custom Taco Guitar

Published

on

Party God Andrew W.K. is proud to unveil his brand new Taco Guitar, in celebration of National Taco Day. Like the Pizza Guitar before it, the Taco Guitar was custom made by ESP Guitars, and was born from Andrew’s ongoing quest to create the partiest things in the world.

“I started pondering, what’s another food that’s as party as pizza? When it comes to edible celebration, tacos are partier than almost anything else. Pizza and tacos are among the partiest foods on the planet, and I realized that since I had paid musical tribute to pizza, I now had to pay musical tribute to tacos. I was destined to make a taco shaped guitar – it was inevitable,” declared Andrew. “This is proof that if you have the vision, no matter how outlandish or unruly, the team at ESP Guitars can turn that vision into reality. And they do it using the highest quality materials – the highest quality craftsmanship. ESP has absolutely mind blowing attention to detail and they put playability at the top of their instrument’s many attributes. There’s no compromise when it comes to the integrity of this instrument, and there’s no softness when it comes to the hardness of my party.”

Hand painted by Andrew himself, the guitar features a ground beef taco on the front side (topped with shredded cheddar cheese, chopped lettuce, and jumbo diced tomatoes), and a dazzling turquoise eye emblazoned on the back. Watch a video from ESP on the making of the Taco Guitar here.

With a new studio album set for release on March 2, 2018 via Sony Music worldwide, Andrew W.K. is currently in the middle of his first full-band concert outing in five years, “The Party Never Dies Tour,” which continues tonight in Dallas, Texas. A full list of tour dates can be found below.
