Jonny Lang Debuts New Track ‘Bitter End’

Jonny Lang’s brand new studio album, ‘Signs,’ will be released in North America on September 8 via Concord Records.

Jonny Lang’s brand new studio album, Signs, will be released in North America on September 8 via Concord Records. The album, his sixth major label release, is his first in four years. The European release for Signs will be on August 25 via Provogue Records / Mascot Label Group.

Lang has just debuted a new track from the album titled “Bitter End.”

“Bitter End is about humanity continuing to repeat the same mistakes over and over – are we just going to keep doing that until we are all gone?” Lang shared. “Or, are we going to learn from them, and allow for it to be a lesson that lasts, which we can do something with, and turn the past errors it in to a positive before we end up in a place where we can’t come back from.”

Signs is available to pre-order here. All pre-orders will include both “Bitter End” and “Make It Move” is instant grat tracks.

Anyone who originally discovered Jonny Lang through his searing instrumental work will revel in the huge guitar tones and go for broke solos on Signs, while those who have appreciated his growth as an honest and passionate songwriter will find that honesty and passion unabated. Though he long ago left blues purism behind, Lang has never abandoned its spirit of universal catharsis through the relating of personal trials. Signs reaffirms his commitment to the blues and the guitar without sacrificing the modern approach that has made him such a singular artist.

It is hard to believe that at only 36 years old Jonny Lang has already had a successful career for two decades. Easier to believe when you learn he released his first platinum record at 15 — an age when many young people are just beginning to play music. Lie To Me revealed a talent that transcended the crop of blues prodigies floating around in the late Nineties. No flashy re-hasher of classic blues licks, even at that early age Lang was a full-blown artist with a style of his own. Also, setting Lang apart from the wunderkind crowd was a 15-year-old voice that sounded like a weathered soul shouter. Actual life experience was yet to come, and has been subsequently chronicled in a series of five uniformly excellent recordings.

Since the release of his debut album, Grammy Award winning Jonny Lang has built a reputation as one of the best live performers and guitarists of his generation. The path Lang has been on has brought him the opportunity to support or perform with some of the most respected legends in music. He has shared the stage with everyone from The Rolling Stones and B.B. King to Aerosmith and Buddy Guy, who he continues to tour with today.

Watch ‘War Pigs’ And ‘N.I.B.’ From Black Sabbath’s ‘The End’ DVD

‘The End’ captures the legendary line-up celebrating their storied career, marking the closure of a monumental chapter in rock history.

Published

on

Almost five decades ago, the toll of a bell and rolling thunder marked the conception of an ear splittingly monolithic riff. In that moment, Black Sabbath and the sound of Heavy Metal were forged. The band embarked on what Ozzy describes as “the most incredible adventure you could think of,” a journey that would go on to define a genre.

The End, to be released on November 17, 2017, captured the final destination of that adventure – an unforgettable farewell show at the Genting Arena in Black Sabbath’s hometown of Birmingham. Filmed February 4, 2017, The End captures the legendary line-up celebrating their storied career, marking the closure of a monumental chapter in rock history.

With a hit packed set list including “Iron Man,” “Paranoid,” “War Pigs” and many more, the high production values, visual effects and pyrotechnics wowed fans, as the band delivered the most emotionally charged show of their lives. “Because it was Birmingham, it was a special night for us,” said Tony. “It was great to look out and know that all these people have come to see us. What a great feeling. There’s nothing like it.”

All visual formats feature special bonus material of the band playing a selection of their favorite songs not played on tour. These intimate live sessions at Angelic Studios were recorded in the days after their final live performance, and mark the band’s final studio recordings. Geezer said, “It will never be The End for me. I’ll always be a part of Sabbath, and Sabbath will always be a part of me”.

Following last month’s world premiere of a companion documentary film in over 1,700 cinemas around the world, Eagle Vision will release the full live show of The End on November 17 on DVD+CD, Blu-ray+CD, double CD, triple 180gm vinyl and a limited deluxe collector’s edition. A limited number of exclusive merchandise bundles are also available at PledgeMusic.

The End captures a once-in-a-career performance, an essential snapshot of musical history and a fitting farewell to true innovators and original heavy metal icons, Black Sabbath.

“From The Fires” will feature on one disc four brand new recordings as well as the four critically-acclaimed tracks from the band’s break-out EP “Black Smoke Rising.”

Greta Van Fleet, one of the most exciting up-and-coming rock bands making music today, and just named Best New Artist at this year’s Loudwire Music Awards, will release From The Fires, an eight-song double EP, on November 10 (Lava/Republic Records).

From The Fires will feature on one disc four brand new Greta Van Fleet recordings as well as the four critically-acclaimed tracks from the band’s break-out EP Black Smoke Rising, including “Highway Tune,” the band’s debut single that spent five consecutive weeks at #1 on the Mainstream Rock Radio charts. The four new tracks were recorded last month at Rust Belt Studios in Detroit and produced by the same duo that produced Black Smoke Rising earlier this year, Al Sutton and Marlon Young.

Greta Van Fleet was just named one of Rolling Stone’s “10 New Artists You Need to Know.”

According to the band’s vocalist Josh Kiszka, compiling the four Black Smoke Rising tracks with the four new recordings made for an ideal grouping. “All eight of these songs share a theme of basic humanity,” said Kiszka.

From The Fires will be available both digitally and as a physical disc. For those fans that have already purchased the Black Smoke Rising tracks via iTunes, they are invited to complete their From The Fires double EP at a special price. Log onto iTunes for those details.

The cover art for From The Fires was conceived by Josh who said, “When we were all kids, our extended families and friends spent part of every summer together at a place called Yankee Springs. We were out in the middle of the woods, and every night, we’d sit around a campfire, play music and tell stories. I always loved that as it reminded me of ancient times when people would gather around the fires with the tribes’ elders telling fables of wisdom and courage, passing down human history. That concept is where the cover art and title come from.”

Greta Van Fleet – vocalist Josh Kiszka, brothers Jake (guitar) and Sam (bass, keys) and family friend Danny Wagner (drums) – is currently on tour in the U.S. having sold out every one of its headline shows through to the end of the year. Remaining dates are below.
