Exclusive Interview: Vince Neil from Motley Crue

You’ve got to tell me about Rock Tails. How did the idea come together for that?

I was approached by Randy, an old friend of mine, who was producing it. They were looking for something with me and rock ‘n roll, like ‘tales from the road.’ We were sitting around talking about it one day and next thing you know it was decided to do something with me telling road experiences and we ended up putting faces with the stories.

How in the hell did they think you would have any stories to tell like that?

Yeah! (laughing) I’ve got a million of ‘em.

The first two volumes coming out at the end of this month. Are those soley based around your stories or did someone else help write the scripts?

The way it worked with a lot of them, I just sat around and told stories. I think they probably got some stories out of our book, The Dirt. The stories were about things that happen on the road. That’s where the first ones came from.

Are there going to be more volumes?

Oh yeah. We’ll keep going. There are always more tours so there are always more stories.

You’re also looking for fan participation, right?

Oh yeah, definitely. Send in a good story and watch it come to life. I think it’s pretty cool.

Are these strictly DVD releases? I heard that they may be shown on TV.

I’m not really sure exactly how it’s going to be done, but I think eventually it will be on one of those late night shows like Cinemax, Showtime – you know, those softcore porn things. That’s where it will eventually show up.

Were you involved in the production at all?

No, not really. I don’t live in L.A. so I was only there for a day or two to just shoot my parts of it. The other guys involved all came to Vegas to talk about the storylines.

I’ve also heard mention of a Rock Tails soundtrack. Will that be new music from you?

We were talking about it. It hasn’t gone any further than just talking. We’re just taking it one thing at a time. We just want to get it going. If we do some music, I’m not really sure what we’re going to do. I’d like to…well, I don’t know. That’s a little bit too far down the road. I’m sure there will be something to accompany it later on.

You’ve been a staple at the AVN Awards for years. Did you do any promotion for Rock Tails while you were there?

No, I just go there every year. This year I didn’t present, but the last three years I presented awards. Last year I actually even sang. The AVN’s are just…I have a lot of friends in the industry. It’s always a good time here in Vegas when the AVN’s are in town.

Yup, right in your backyard!

Hell yeah, definitely!

Will you be hosting a show on HBO kinda like an American Idol for strippers?

There’s just talk about it. I get offers from different things all the time. I always look at it and see if it looks cool. Sometimes things are cheesy. That is definitely something I’m looking at and just haven’t made a decision yet. I only have so much time in the day.

That being said, what do you have lined up for 2004?

I’ll be back on tour. I’ve got a couple of shows and then I’m back here in Vegas for Superbowl weekend. The day after I’m in Baltimore, then New York, Allentown, Long Island, then I’m in Miami for a week, Palm Springs for a few days, Mexico, Mexico City…Things just keep getting piled up. I’m touring this summer, but I think I’m going out with Cinderella.

Is that the Rock Never Stops tour?

Yeah. I think I’ll be doing that. It’s not a signed deal yet, it’s just one of the options I have for the summer.

I’ve got to ask because you are the voice of Motley Crue…What’s going on with Motley Crue in 2004? Are you guys keeping in touch?

Yeah. I was on the phone with Nikki just about an hour ago. We’re just working out details to see what’s going on. We’re planning, just in the talking stages, of a tour in ‘05. The Dirt movie should be coming out around the beginning of ‘05 and we’ll do the tour in conjunction with the movie release. It will be our reunion/farewell tour.

So it’s official…Your next tour will be the farewell tour for Motley Crue?

Yeah. We’d just reunite for the one tour. It would be a world tour, a long tour. Then that would be it.

How’s Mick doing?

He’s been sick for years but he’s better than he has been.

What did you think about the Greatest Hits DVD?

I haven’t even watched it yet! I heard it was really good. I’ve got some copies sitting here but I haven’t put it one yet. I think things like that are cool. I was looking at the back of it thinking, “Man, I forgot we did that many videos!” People enjoy it and it brings back a lot of cool memories from those videos.

Those were all good memories in my mind.

Oh yeah!

You’ve been on TV a lot lately with your interviews on VH1 When Metal Ruled The World and ABCs 20/20. When were those filmed?

The VH1 thing was filmed a few months ago. The 20/20 thing was not that long ago. A month and a half ago, maybe.

You said the video that came out of you and Janine was one of the most embarassing things you ever had to go through. One couldn’t tell, though. You’re putting out Rock Tails, touring, and staying involved in the adult industry.

Well, it was embarassing but it’s one of those things that you just kinda have to deal with. It’s one of those things you don’t really expect. Then you’re like, “Oh shit! It’s out!” What can I do about it?

Somewhere in the back of your mind did you ever think, “This porn chick has never had sex with a man on camera before! I’m the first guy on film to have sex with her!” (laughs)

I never even thought about that! (laughs) I’m it! Lucky me!

What do you want people to know about Rock Tails?

I think it’s cool. It’s a lot of good rock ‘n roll fantasy. It lets your rock ‘n roll fantasy come true.

Here’s what JC at Naughty Pictures had to say about working with Vince Neil on the first two volumes of Rock Tails:

Vince brings a lot of ideas to the table. The title “Rocktails” was his as was the selection of women used. He’s very particular. His criteria was simple, “I want the woman fucking hot” he said – we did our best to find a cross section of sexy gals, but when it came down to casting, on several occasions Vince just said no to the ones who didn’t fit his standards. We also discussed stories and sexy rock tales, unfortunately some of the stuff we discussed was too much for the film but we did our best to represent some of the sexiness of the real stories.

What can people expect from the first two volumes of RockTails?

We tried to give people a behind the scenes view of some of the wild sex involved in rock and roll shows and the lifestyle. They can not only expect some kick-ass original rock music, but also, wildly hot women recreating some sexy stories that rockers, fans and groupies have told us.

How can fans get involved?

Fans can get involved by not only posting their stories on the site, but also musicians can contact us about contributing music to the next film.
