Exclusive Interview: Jana Jordan

Rock Confidential has been featuring exclusive interviews – like this one – with the top names in music and entertainment since 2002.

What have you been up to? How have things been going?

Pretty good. I just got back from New York. I did Howard Stern and doing the Pet of the Year playoffs since I’m in the running.

What was it like to work with the Stern crew?

Oh, it was awesome! I don’t know why he’s got such a bad rep. He was so cool with me. I would do his show every day. He was so awesome and nice.

He’s an inspiration to a lot of people but I’ve seen him be very down to earth, too.

Oh yeah, I don’t know why everybody hates on him so much.

Tell me something about yourself. What were you like in high school?

I wasn’t very popular but people knew who I was. I got good grades, had a normal family. I had a really normal life. I grew up in a small town outside of Houston so everyone knows everyone. Everyone at home knows what I’m doing out here.

Do you remember the first time you were exposed to porn or magazines?

I think I was three or four. My parents had a Kama Sutra book. I was looking for a book to read for bedtime. I took it out and thought, What is this? I never understood but that was the first time I was exposed to sex.

I remember the first time I saw a boob! My parents had these medical encyclopedias and I remember finding a section on breast exams and I saw a lady with her top off. I was just a little kid and I thought that was the best thing in the world!

THAT is funny!

So, tell me how you broke into adult.

I really liked girls. When I was younger I was definitely more interested in girls than guys. My parents would have Playboys around the house and something about that was really cool. I really wanted to do that when I got older. I knew I wanted to do something along those lines. I didn’t know if it was going to be porn because I was scared about what my family would think. They’re really important to me. I just knew I wanted to do nude modeling or something.

Was it the glamorous look the girls had in the magazines or did you just want to do something a little different?

I think it was both. I liked the attention. A lot of girls get famous doing nude work. If you want to get known you’re going to have to do something naughty. I really wanted to do something that people would say, Damn, she does that? I didn’t want them to be able to say, I could do that too.

Tell me about some of the first work that you did.

When I was 17 I did non-nude modeling on websites before the 2257 came out then made it illegal. I did some webcam shows. When I turned 18 I had a friend who introduced me to a photographer for Playboy and I shot for them. It went from there.

From doing that, was it just the fact that you wanted to do more with your career that led you into adult?

I really wanted to do porn but I was scared. I wanted to do it on my own terms. I didn’t want it to be trashy so I was just taking my time exploring different video companies. I didn’t just jump into it.

How long have you officially been in adult? Tell me about your Ninn Worx_SR contract, too.

I’d been in the industry doing magazines and movies about six months before I signed with Ninn Worx. I’d only done about four or five movies. I met Michael at AVN and he was telling me he was looking for a contract girl. We met up a couple of weeks later and I signed. I signed this past February. I just renewed my contract with Spearmint Rhino. Ninn Worx is a great company.

The Ninn Worx contract girls seem to be very involved in outside hobbies – painting, drawing, musical instruments, cars. What about you?

I have a ‘69 Mercury Cyclone. It’s my baby. I do photo shoots on it and stuff. That’s my interest. It’s an awesome car!

I wanna ask a couple of music questions! What kind of music do you like?

I like a lot of 80s. I like early punk. I like a lot of girl singers.

Do you go to shows a lot?

Not like I used to. When I was 14 to about 17 and living in Houston, that was the only thing you could do, really. I’d go to little venues and watch bands play but I don’t do that anymore. I unfortunately don’t have time.

Looking at your career now, has it been everything you thought it would be? Has anything taken you by surprise?

I never really thought about what it would be like but I knew that it would get people’s attention. I didn’t think I would be really successful because I don’t look like the typical porn star. I don’t have big, fake tits and I’m not super skinny and super tan. I didn’t think a lot of people would be into the natural look as much as they are. I’m thankful that I didn’t have to get plastic surgery for people to take an interest in me.

What do you have store for 2008?

I am hopefully going to do some more MTV shows. I work with MTV a lot. We’re working that out.

Tell me more about that.

I have a friend that has his own show and he’s helping me out. It’s called Rob and Big. I think it season premiere’s in January. I will be in that episode!

Since you’ve been able to accomplish so much with your career so far, what are some goals you have for your career?

I really want to start directing and have my own production company. I want to move away from the acting part of it when I’m 28. I still want to model but I’ll be done with films by then.

Thanks for taking time out for this. What would you like to say to your fans?

Thanks so much for being interested in all-natural girls! Thank you, I love you and keep it real!
