Airbourne Premiere Motorhead Tribute Video ‘It’s All For Rock N’ Roll’

Motörhead’s famous “bomber” lighting rig was lent to Airbourne by the Motörhead camp, adding real emotional weight to both the clip and the song itself.

Airbourne have revealed a rip-roaring video for “It’s All For Rock N’ Roll,” the climactic track on their current studio album, Breakin’ Outta Hell – their first for Spinefarm Records.

“It’s All For Rock N’ Roll” was written about Lemmy, a man the band looked up to, befriended and loved, having shared stages with Motörhead on numerous occasions over their decade-plus career, both in Europe and Australia. When they needed someone to drive a large truck (recklessly, of course) in their “Runnin’ Wild” video (2007), Lemmy was the first name on the list, and he duly obliged with a memorable, authority-baitin’ cameo.

Motörhead’s famous “bomber” lighting rig, a noted part of ‘Head history since the late ’70s, was enthusiastically lent to Airbourne by the Motörhead camp, adding real emotional weight to both the “It’s All For Rock N’ Roll” clip and the song itself – an anthemic number recorded to honor one of rock’s most revered and influential figures, and also to celebrate the hard rock genre as a whole, the loyalty and the legacy.

“When Motörhead played, Lemmy was there for the fans and the fans were there for him. It didn’t matter what was happening in the world at that point, because Motörhead was onstage; the crew had everything dialled in, and the crowd were there and lovin’ it – all for rock n’ roll,” said Airbourne frontman Joel O’Keeffe. “Whenever we were on tour, we looked forward to seeing the festival posters with the big Motörhead logo on there, and now there’s just a big black hole. ‘We are Motörhead, and we play rock ‘n’ roll,’ we were so used to hearing that, and when it’s not there anymore, it hits you hard. Lemmy meant so much to us, and so much to rock ‘n’ roll itself…”

Airbourne will play at the Download Festival this June, taking to the main stage for the first time.

The Darkness have released the official music video for the song “Happiness.” The clip was created by Vitamin Pictures in Chicago, Illinois and was directed by Daniel DelPurgatorio.

Said The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins: “‘Happiness’ is about seeing only the golden sand and overlooking the broken glass. Hearing the waves crash and filtering out the grotesque cries of mating gulls. Smelling the distant odor of fresh chips and ignoring the stench of nearby dog shit. Happiness is a choice. Choose The Darkness.”

“Happiness” is taken from The Darkness’s latest album, Pinewood Smile, which came out on October 6. The disc finds The Darkness on electrifying form, delivering some of the most sharp-witted, infectious and downright brilliant songs of their career, and was greeted with rave reviews, including four stars in issues of Q, Planet Rock and Mojo magazines.

Liv Sin Releases ‘King Of The Damned’ Video

The track is a call to action for the public to do something about the extinction of the world’s wildlife.

Liv Sin, the new band led by former Sister Sin vocalist Liv “Sin” Jagrell, has released the official music video for a new song called “King Of The Damned.” The track is a call to action for the public to do something about the extinction of the world’s wildlife. The band has chosen to work with the Swedish animal rights organization Djurens Rätt during the single campaign.

“For me, this song is a call to action to everyone that we as humans will soon extinguish all of the world’s wildlife,” Liv says. “And we need to take action immediately otherwise there will be nothing left.

“I got the inspiration to the lyrics from Nick Brandt’s exhibition ‘Inherit The Dust’ (a photo exhibition where Brandt revisited places where he used to take pictures of the wildlife, and how its landscapes are now of garbage and people living in the garbage) and the shooting of Cecil The Lion. For me, both of those events are extremely depressing and not very flattering for mankind. Unfortunately, that’s the way we are heading if we do nothing.

“Remember Lion King? Well, soon there is not going to be any ‘King of the Jungle’ left, they will be ‘King of the Damned’ instead.

She continues: “I wish that everyone would take a minute to just think about it, about how we are treating our world.

“We chose to cooperate with a Swedish animal rights organization called Djurens Rätt on this song. All of the profits of this song from our Bandcamp site will go to them. You can also donate through PayPal at info@despotz.se.”

Liv Sin’s debut album, Follow Me, was released in April via the Swedish label Despotz Records.

The clip, which was directed by Jeremy Danger and Travis Shinn, arrives as the band is in the final two weeks of its North American tour. A Perfect Circle also recently announced its first European tour in 14 years.

Upon arrival of “The Doomed,” singer Maynard James Keenan said: “Fourteen years have passed since we released eMOTIVe. A new release is long overdue. In light of this current difficult and polarized social, spiritual and political climate, we artist types need to open our big mouths and share the light a little louder.”
